SONY & INTEL - ROCKET PROJECT

This was originally a Sony and Intel co-op assignment that called for a few digital banners talking about the processing power of a computer chip. We aimed a little higher. The result was a rocket that reached 147,000 feet into the stratosphere, a one hour TV show on the Science Channel that documented it all and a life-changing event for several smart kids from California.

Eight high school students come together for the ultimate science project: to launch a rocket by harnessing the computing power of today's Sony VAIO notebook powered by Intel Core Processors. The Rocket Project powered by Sony and Intel. Watch the story unfold at sony.com/rocketproject

Nobody likes watching case study videos. But this one is special. Promise.

After seven months, an indefinite weather hold and several launch delays, the Rocket Project team successfully launched a 29-foot, 1,100-pound, two-stage rocket.
